Email Clients

An email client is an application installed on the computer that allows you to send and receive email with out having to go to a web browser. The most common email clients in the district are Entourage and Mail on the Mac and Outlook on Windows.
We plan to set up an email client with your new computer this fall. As of right now it looks like we will support Mail on the Mac and Outlook on the Windows.

Spam Folder

It would be good idea to check the spam filter for the first month or two. To do so click the "x more" (the number will change depending on your setup, this picture shows 4 more) label to expand and see your hidden labels. You will see spam under that list.

Email Etiquette

-Reply to a message only if it pertains to that message. If you want to email someone about a different subject start a new message.
-When you reply to a message include the entire message. This allows the receiver to brush up on the conversation if needed.
-Reply to a message at the top of the message. The most current information in the email should be at the top.
-CAP LOCK indicates you are yelling, and it's really annoying to read a message in all caps.
-Use the BCC field when sending to a large group.
-Do not forward chain letters, virus warnings(check a reliable source), or junk mail.
-Do not send confidential information over email. Remember there is no such thing as private email.
-Read Microsoft's "12 tips for better email etiquette".
